SPOTLIGHT: CATO DOBBS 🛹

Cato Dobbs is and has been holding it down for the NZ skate scene for years, and the rest of the world’s taken notice.

Based in Auckland, Cato rides for some of the most respected names in skateboarding. With features in magazines and ads with Thunder, Always, and New Balance, all support that’s well-earned.

His current setup: 8.375 Always Do What You Should Do deck, Thunder 148s, 53mm Spitfires, Mob grip, Sunday hardware, and New Balances on foot.

Lately, he’s been travelling the world, filming and stacking footy. Working on finishing in his video part for alwaysdowhatyoushoulddo. Hearing this is so hype, so keen to see this get wrapped up and released to the world.

Cato also runs CityLink, a passion project and brand of his own. Releasing limited drops of clothing and accessories, he’s building something we love to see from local riders in this space. A platform for their creativity off the board and a way for the audience to support the locals.

Thank you Cato for letting us showcase what you do for NZ skate.

SPOTLIGHT: THE PLUCK BOYZ 🔥

If you don’t know these lads already, it’s time you do. They’re going places.

Oscar, William, and Harry Pluck are three insanely talented brothers out of Cambridge, NZ who are blowing up the action sports scene.

These guys live and breathe two wheels. Riding bikes, scooters, and motorbikes. With support from their own Pluckboyz merch, Fist Handwear, DGR, Sleeper Scooters, Franklin Farms, Shogun, and more.

They’re constantly pushing their limits. Some tricks they’re most stoked on is:
💥 William’s triple backflip on BMX
💥 Oscar’s dialled double flips on MTB
💥 Harry’s backflip double-whips on BMX

But to them, it’s not just about the tricks they can do. It’s about having fun, enjoying what they do together, and chasing their goals of travelling the world, scoring Red Bull sponsorship, growing the Pluckboyz brand, and taking this thing they’ve built as far as they can.

SPOTLIGHT: BRANDON DRUMMOND 👟

Brandon Drummond is an aggressive inline skater based in Wellington, NZ.

Riding for Shred City Skates and the one-man force behind Laced, his NZ-grown clothing brand.

Brandon has lived and skated all over the country, from Hamilton to Invercargill, and Wellington’s been home for the past 10 years.

A proud part of his journey is pushing through a serious knee injury to get back on his skates, as well as putting together his last street video part, “LASF.” Once he’s fully bounced back, his plan is to film a new street part and finally hit the spots he’s been eyeing up all year.

When he’s not skating, he’s busy running Laced. A brand he started back in 2017, where he does everything himself, from design and sourcing to admin and customer support. The idea behind Laced began in high school, and with his YouTube channel picking up traction, he decided to take the leap and turn it into a real brand.

And there’s newness on the way too. A new drop is launching soon that mixes some of his existing pieces in a completely new style. So, keep an eye on @shop.laced for that!.

You can support Brandon and his vision by heading over to shop-laced.com, and for a limited time only, use the code thrivesupply to get $5 off your order. Massive thanks to him for hooking up a discount just for you. 🔥

RIDER SPOTLIGHT: JORDAN CHAN 🛴

Jordan has been holding it down for the NZ scooter scene for years. Born and raised in Auckland, he rides for @envyscooters pro team and is the owner of @justscooteringnz.

With 10+ years of riding under his belt, he’s currently ranked as New Zealand’s #1 street rider and most recently, taking 1st place at XAIR.

Jordan is all about riding his own way and never letting outside influence change his style. That’s what makes him stand out, and why he’s always pushing others to do the same.

Through his riding and his business (Just Scootering), his goal is to help riders go beyond what they thought was possible for themselves and show them just how capable they really are.

Support local. Support Jordan and Just Scootering. one of NZ’s best, backing the future of scootering.
